What's a lineage society?
A lineage society is a group that has requirements to join based on your ancestry. To join a society you will have an application to fill out, a membership fee to pay, and you will need to provide genealogical documentation for your ancestor.
After our nation celebrated its Centennial, many Americans were interested in showing their patriotism by keeping alive the history of their ancestors who had taken part in establishing our nation.
Today, lineage societies engage in a wide variety of community service and historical preservation. They're a wonderful way to connect with others and build friendships!
